Vulnerability management · internal network, OT, and IoT

Find the vulnerabilities in your internal network before attackers do.

BeforeTHEM is a vulnerability management platform for the internal network, covering servers, workstations, network devices, Active Directory, and OT and IoT devices. It discovers your assets, finds vulnerabilities and insecure configurations with its own detection engine, ranks what an attacker would exploit first, and tracks every fix through to completion in the ticketing tool your team already uses.

Internal network view

Network vulnerabilities, ranked by real-world exploitation.

The console groups vulnerabilities on servers, workstations, and devices by severity and highlights those with known active exploitation, along with the number of affected assets for each one.

Your team starts with what attackers are already using and can track how that group shrinks with every remediation cycle.

Exploitation window

The time between disclosure and attack keeps getting shorter.

< 1 day

is the median time between a CVE's publication and the first public exploit.

55.6%

of CVEs already had exploit code available on the day they were published.

19%

of monitored threats call for immediate action under SSVC categorization.

Why BeforeTHEM

Detections built by offensive security specialists.

Many internal scanners stop at listing CVEs based on software versions. An attacker who is already inside the network usually takes a different route: a service account with a weak password, SMB without signing, a legacy protocol that was never turned off, a path to domain admin.

BeforeTHEM's network and configuration checks, including the Active Directory checks, were written by the CSURFACE offensive security team to find exactly these weak points. They run alongside thousands of detections for known vulnerabilities. When an insecure configuration maps to a MITRE ATT&CK technique, the finding names that technique, so your team understands the risk without having to interpret it.

What changes for your team

Focus on what needs to be fixed.

INVENTORY

An inventory you can trust

Each machine appears once, with its installed software and the version of each package. The inventory also picks up what was never registered, such as the PLC on the plant floor, the parking lot camera, or the switch still running its factory password.

CONFIDENCE

Less time on false positives

When the installed version falls outside the range affected by a vulnerability, the finding is discarded before it reaches your list. The findings that remain show where the detection came from and how confident the platform is in it.

PRIORITY

Fixes in the right order

Vulnerabilities with confirmed exploitation in real attacks come first, followed by those most likely to be exploited. The CVSS score still counts, but it is no longer the only criterion.

DEFENSES

Visibility into your defenses

The platform flags machines without EDR, with the firewall turned off, or with Windows protections disabled. That way the company knows whether the tools it paid for are actually installed and running.

End-to-end vulnerability management

From discovered asset to confirmed fix.

Finding the vulnerability is the first of five stages. BeforeTHEM follows every one of them and measures whether the cycle is working.

Discover

Inventory of assets, software, and OT and IoT equipment, with no duplicate records.

Detect

Vulnerabilities, insecure configurations, and Active Directory weaknesses, with a confidence level for each finding.

Prioritize

Known exploitation and likelihood of exploitation, weighed against the asset's criticality and exposure.

Remediate

A ticket opens in your team's Jira or ServiceNow, and its status updates automatically.

Confirm

The next scan verifies the fix and removes resolved items from the list.

Every stage produces metrics: posture score, remediation SLA, and control coverage.

Compliance with international standards

Compliance with security standards, measured on the internal network.

PCI DSS 4.0, ISO 27001, CIS Controls v8, and NIST CSF 2.0 all expect an organization to show that it finds and fixes vulnerabilities on a regular basis. BeforeTHEM maps internal network findings to the requirements of each framework and delivers the metrics that validate compliance, ready for your compliance analyst and for the audit.

  • Recorded cadence. Every scan is kept in the history with its date and coverage, including the authenticated portion.
  • Risk-based remediation. The queue shows what was prioritized, why it was prioritized, and when it was fixed.
  • Traceability for every finding. From the moment it was identified to the ticket and the confirmed fix.
  • Reports by framework. Status of each requirement, an action plan, and an evidence trail, in executive and technical versions.

Part of the CSURFACE platform

External and internal views in one place.

CSURFACE maps and validates what your company exposes on the internet. BeforeTHEM covers what sits inside the network. Each product can be purchased on its own. To consolidate both views into a single inventory, CAASM brings together data from CSURFACE and BeforeTHEM, with integrations included.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ

Does BeforeTHEM replace CSURFACE?

No. CSURFACE covers the external surface, meaning what the company exposes on the internet. BeforeTHEM covers the internal network. They are independent products, and each one can be purchased separately.

We already use a patch management tool. Where does BeforeTHEM fit?

BeforeTHEM reads from your patch tool what was recorded as applied and confirms each fix on the next scan. Your patch process stays as it is, and your team gets proof on the asset itself.

Does BeforeTHEM work alongside the vulnerability scanner we already use?

Yes. BeforeTHEM can run in parallel with your current scanner, either during a transition or on a permanent basis. To consolidate results from all your tools into a single asset inventory, CSURFACE offers CAASM.

Does it work on industrial networks with OT and IoT?

Yes. BeforeTHEM recognizes industrial protocols such as Modbus, EtherNet/IP, and IEC 104, as well as cameras, printers, and devices managed over SNMP. These assets live in the same inventory as your servers.

Do I need to install an agent on every machine?

No. Network scanning, with or without credentials, works without an agent. The agent is optional and recommended when you need the exact software version and the host's internal configuration.

Is my network data kept separate from other companies' data?

Yes. Data travels over an encrypted channel with mutual authentication, and each company can access only its own environment. The platform itself enforces this isolation.

Can I buy through a partner?

Yes. BeforeTHEM is also offered by MSSPs, who operate the platform on your company's behalf. Talk to our team and we can recommend a partner, or you can buy directly from us.
