CVE-2026-93680
Overview
The vulnerability in IBM Langflow OSS is an authentication bypass due to improper validation of authentication tokens or credentials. This flaw resides in the authentication mechanism of the Langflow OSS application, affecting versions 1.0.0 through 1.12.8. The root cause is a failure to enforce proper authentication checks on certain API endpoints, allowing unauthorized access to protected resources.
Vulnerability Description
IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.12.8 could allow a remote attacker to bypass security restrictions due to improper authentication.
Impact
An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this flaw to gain unauthorized access to the IBM Langflow OSS system, bypassing all authentication restrictions. This access allows the attacker to view, modify, or delete sensitive data and potentially execute privileged actions within the application. No user interaction or valid credentials are required, enabling full system compromise and potential lateral movement within environments using Langflow OSS.
Solution
IBM has released patches addressing this authentication bypass vulnerability in Langflow OSS versions beyond 1.12.8. Users should upgrade to the latest fixed version as detailed in the IBM advisory available at https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/node/7294467. The advisory provides step-by-step instructions for applying the update and mitigating the issue. No alternative workarounds are specified; applying the official patch is required to remediate the vulnerability.
