CVE-2026-77690
Overview
This vulnerability is a command injection flaw arising from insufficient input validation in the certificate deployment configuration feature of ManageEngine Key Manager Plus. Specifically, authenticated users with certificate deployment privileges can supply crafted input that is improperly sanitized before being passed to system-level command execution functions. The affected component is the deployment target configuration interface in versions prior to 7151, where user-supplied parameters are directly incorporated into shell commands without adequate filtering or escaping.
Vulnerability Description
ZohoCorp ManageEngine Key Manager Plus versions before 7151 were vulnerable to a Command Injection vulnerability that allowed authenticated users with certificate deployment privileges to execute arbitrary commands through specially crafted input when configuring a deployment target.
Impact
An attacker with valid credentials and certificate deployment privileges can execute arbitrary system commands on the server hosting ManageEngine Key Manager Plus. This capability enables full control over the affected system, including data exfiltration, service disruption, or lateral movement within the network. The prerequisite is possession of an account authorized to deploy certificates, which may be a low-privileged user in some environments. Successful exploitation can compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the Key Manager Plus server and potentially other connected infrastructure.
Solution
ZohoCorp has released an update addressing this command injection vulnerability in ManageEngine Key Manager Plus version 7151. Users should upgrade to version 7151 or later to remediate the issue. Detailed patch instructions and advisory information are available at the vendor's official advisory page: https://www.manageengine.com/key-manager/advisory/cve-2026-77690.html. No alternative workarounds are specified in the advisory.
