CVE-2026-113802
Overview
This vulnerability is an OS command injection in the Wavlink WL-WN530BE1-A firmware affecting the ioos binary. The root cause is the improper sanitization of the file_id parameter in the sub_23B54 function, which directly passes user input to the popen() system call. The flaw resides in the handling of /protocol.csp?opt=ovpn_file requests with type=del, enabling injection through crafted input.
Vulnerability Description
Wavlink WL-WN530BE1-A firmware through M30BE1_V251117 contains an OS command injection vulnerability in the sub_23B54 function of the ioos binary, which passes the unsanitized file_id parameter of /protocol.csp?opt=ovpn_file requests with type=del to popen(). A remote unauthenticated attacker can send a forged IP-FROM: 127.0.0.1 header to bypass login and execute arbitrary commands as root.
Impact
An unauthenticated remote attacker can bypass login by spoofing the IP-FROM header and execute arbitrary commands as root on the device. This grants full control over the affected router, enabling data theft, device manipulation, or network pivoting. No user interaction or credentials are required, making exploitation straightforward and enabling complete system compromise with potential downstream impacts on the connected network.
Solution
Users of Wavlink WL-WN530BE1-A should upgrade firmware to versions later than M30BE1_V251117 where this issue is addressed. Refer to the official advisories and firmware updates provided at https://www.vulncheck.com/advisories/wavlink-wl-wn530be1-a-unauthenticated-os-command-injection-in-ioos-protocol-csp-ovpn-file-handler for detailed patch instructions. No vendor-specific advisory ID was provided; follow vendor guidance to apply the latest secure firmware releases.
