CVE-2026-91913
Overview
This vulnerability is an OS command injection flaw in Dell OpenManage Enterprise versions prior to 4.8.0. It arises from improper neutralization of special characters in user-supplied input that is incorporated into operating system commands without adequate sanitization. The affected component is the command execution functionality accessible via the management interface, which processes input from low-privileged remote users.
Vulnerability Description
Dell OpenManage Enterprise, versions prior to 4.8.0, contains an Improper Neutralization of Special Elements used in an OS Command ('OS Command Injection') vulnerability. A low privileged attacker with remote access could potentially exploit this vulnerability, leading to Command execution.
Impact
An attacker with low-level authenticated access can execute arbitrary operating system commands on the Dell OpenManage Enterprise server remotely. This can lead to unauthorized control over the system, enabling actions such as data exfiltration, system manipulation, or further network compromise. The prerequisite is having remote access with limited privileges, which can be leveraged to escalate control and disrupt enterprise management operations.
Solution
Dell has addressed this vulnerability in Dell OpenManage Enterprise version 4.8.0 and later. Administrators should apply the security update detailed in Dell Security Advisory DSA-2026-467, available at https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000523220/dsa-2026-467-security-update-for-dell-openmanage-enterprise-vulnerabilities. The advisory provides patch instructions and recommends upgrading affected systems to the fixed version to mitigate the issue.
