CVE-2026-19868

HIGH CISA KEV Pub 06/11 Upd 07/11

Overview

This vulnerability is an authentication bypass caused by improper enforcement of authentication mechanisms within the SonicOS SSLVPN service. The root cause lies in the failure to correctly validate SAML authentication tokens when alternate authentication methods are used. The affected component is the SonicOS SSLVPN authentication logic, which incorrectly permits users authenticated via alternate methods to bypass SAML controls.

Vulnerability Description

An authentication enforcement vulnerability in SonicOS SSLVPN service may allow a user with valid credentials for an alternate authentication method to bypass SAML authentication controls. Successful exploitation may also bypass SAML-enforced multi-factor authentication (MFA).

Impact

An attacker with valid credentials for an alternate authentication method can bypass SAML authentication and multi-factor authentication controls, gaining unauthorized access to the SSLVPN service. No elevated privileges beyond valid alternate credentials are required. This bypass undermines enforced MFA policies, potentially allowing unauthorized network access, lateral movement, and exposure of sensitive internal resources.

Solution

Apply the patch provided by SonicWall in advisory SNWLID-2026-0014, which addresses the authentication enforcement flaw in SonicOS SSLVPN. The vendor recommends updating SonicOS to the fixed version specified in the advisory. Detailed patch instructions and version information are available at https://psirt.global.sonicwall.com/vuln-detail/SNWLID-2026-0014.
