CVE-2026-110957
Overview
This vulnerability is a command injection flaw rooted in improper handling of the REMOTE_ADDR argument within the Login Processing component of the Wavlink WL-WN530BE2-A device. Specifically, the function sub_12580 in the api.cgi file executes shell commands constructed with unvalidated input, allowing injection of arbitrary OS commands. The vulnerable code uses system() calls that concatenate user-supplied data without adequate sanitization or length checks, enabling exploitation via remote manipulation of network parameters.
Vulnerability Description
A vulnerability has been found in Wavlink WL-WN530BE2-A up to M30BE2_V250604. The affected element is the function sub_12580 of the file api.cgi of the component Login Processing. The manipulation of the argument REMOTE_ADDR leads to os command injection. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The exploit has been disclosed to the public and may be used. Upgrading to version 2026-09-24-841a51c6d5_tclinux.bin is sufficient to fix this issue. You should upgrade the affected component. The vendor confirms: "We confirm the finding, and it has already been addressed. In the current firmware the api=info&client=app handler no longer builds a shell command: the login script is now invoked through an argument vector (execvp) instead of system(), and the client address is length-limited and null-checked."
Impact
An unauthenticated remote attacker can execute arbitrary operating system commands on the affected device, gaining full control over the system. This can lead to complete compromise of the device, including unauthorized access to sensitive data, disruption of network services, or use of the device as a foothold for lateral movement within the network. Exploitation requires no user interaction or credentials, enabling remote takeover from the network or internet-facing interfaces.
Solution
Upgrade the Wavlink WL-WN530BE2-A firmware to version 2026-09-24-841a51c6d5_tclinux.bin or later, which addresses the issue by replacing vulnerable system() calls with execvp and implementing input length and null checks. The patch is available at https://dl.wavlink.com/firmware/RD/WN530BE2_WAVLINK-WO-2026-09-24-841a51c6d5_tclinux.bin. Refer to the vendor's official advisory and download page for detailed installation instructions.
