CVE-2026-107441
Overview
This vulnerability is an out-of-bounds write flaw occurring within the CGI program component of Zyxel GS1900-24E firmware. The root cause is improper boundary checking on input data processed by the CGI handler, leading to memory corruption. The affected component is the web management interface's CGI program in firmware versions up to 2.90(AAHK.2)C0.
Vulnerability Description
An out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the CGI program of Zyxel GS1900-24E firmware versions through 2.90(AAHK.2)C0 could allow an unauthenticated adjacent attacker to exploit the flaw and potentially execute OS commands via a crafted HTTP request.
Impact
An unauthenticated attacker located on the adjacent network can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary operating system commands on the affected device. This enables full control over the switch, potentially leading to unauthorized configuration changes, network disruption, or lateral movement within the infrastructure. No user interaction or credentials are required, increasing the risk of compromise in environments with accessible management interfaces.
Solution
Zyxel has released a security advisory recommending firmware updates to address this vulnerability in the GS1900 series switches. Users should upgrade to firmware versions later than 2.90(AAHK.2)C0 as specified in the Zyxel security advisory available at https://www.zyxel.com/global/en/support/security-advisories/zyxel-security-advisory-for-out-of-bounds-write-vulnerability-in-gs1900-series-switches-11-03-2026. No alternative workarounds are detailed; applying the vendor-provided patch is the primary remediation step.
